Do you Have a Favorite Contemporary Author?

    in Meet the Authors

I have so many favorite contemporary authors. One of my top favorites is JoAnn Durgin. I love her creativity, detailed descriptions, and excellent story lines.

I am mostly too busy writing and editing to read much, but my wife's favourite author is Australian/British writer Anna Jacobs. I've known Anna for 20 years (met her when she ran a workshop in Melbourne), and also love her writing.

I can definitely relate to being busy with writing and editing. I'll have to check out books by Anna Jacobs. Thanks for the suggestion.

Joanne, there is also an American Anna Jacobs. They write very different stories.

    :)

I really like a new author, Ann Jones. Her book "Missing" is really good I think. I hope she does a second book very soon.

Also, Iryna Combs book "Pay for my Sin" is an apocalyptic book based on The Book of Revelation. Really good I think.

I am a very electic reader, but it makes me happy.

Since my day is pretty detail oriented, I tend to like easy reading. I do like Iris Johansen, easy reading and intriguing at the same time

I enjoy so many authors. Two of my favorite sci-fi romance writers are Veronica Scott and Anna Hackett. They built fascinating worlds and believable relationship stories. Since I write sci-fi romance, too, I learn from them.

Eve, reading makes me happy, too. No matter what genre I read, I want to feel good at the end of a book. Linda, Iris Johansen writes fascinating mysteries. I've always enjoyed them.

Another one of my favorite authors is Karen Kingsbury. I really enjoy her stories and family relationship themes.
