Sunday Inspiration: What are You Believing God for Today?

Do you believe God is bigger than your problems? Is He able to move the mountains in your life and walk with you through the trials and tribulations?

I believe He is an awesome God and Lord of my life. “Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You.” (Jer. 32:17)

That being said, there are times that my faith fluctuates and doubt creeps in, but then I turn to God’s Word and soak in His promises and pray, thanking Him for who He is and NOT for what He can do for me.

Faith is definitely a daily journey and one that takes courage.

It’s easier to disbelieve God and stare at the problems you have, than to believe He has a plan for your life as Jeremiah 29:11-14 promises.

“Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

This scripture from Hebrews 13:5 shows how much God values the faith we place in Him as the Lord of our lives. So what is faith anyway? “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Heb. 11:1)

Faith is a beautiful thing. It’s that moment when we connect with God.

The moment when we take that initial step in the right direction, trying to meet Him half-way—as we believe He knows best and will complete the work He began in our lives…Phil. 1:6 teaches us that God is always faithful. We can count on that fact. It’s His promise to us.

Now having faith is not like rubbing a lamp and expecting to get three wishes from a genie.

Faith is believing with all of our soul and spirit that God truly has a plan and He has the best in mind for our lives. God always answers our prayers—it may be a yes, no, or wait—but it’s always the best answer for our lives.

So, what are you believing God for today? Are you in need of a miracle? God is a miracle working God. We just need to have faith as a child…the faith of a mustard seed…to know that God can move the mountains in our pathway or help us to cross up and over to the other side.

His word teaches us in Hebrews 13:5 that He will never leave us nor forsake us. He is our God and loves us.

Yes, we will be disciplined at times, but that is for the times that we are walking in disobedience, outside of God’s will—and because He loves us and wants us to get back on track. Times will be tough and life won’t be rosy, but that’s the beauty of it all.

Faith is like a roller coaster—all God asks you to do is get on board, buckle in and enjoy the ride—He takes care of the rest. When you look at your problems, don't focus on how big you think they are—instead focus on how BIG God actually IS—the work God has started in your life, He’ll complete.
