Author Spotlight: Jenna Greene

Author Spotlight: Jenna Greene

What was the inspiration for your latest book?

It was inspired by my mother’s illness (cancer) and, oddly enough, my freckles.

Why did you decide to become an author?

I don’t know how young I was when I identified as a writer. It was probably when I first started school and a teacher told my parents I had talent. Since then, I’ve always known writing was something I would pursue. There are stories in my head that I have the desire and ability to tell.

What is your favorite aspect of writing?

The brainstorming of ideas, then writing a first draft to see where the story takes me.

What was your favorite interaction with a reader?

There was a young girl at a book signing who was excited to meet me. She couldn’t believe she was meeting the author of a story she loved.

Do you have any writing advice for novice writers?

Just get started. Don’t worry that not everything is perfect the first time. Set small goals for yourself and keep plugging away.

Do you have any marketing advice for novice writers?

Get online. Use social media to your advantage. I’ve found connecting with other writers very helpful, as they have promotional ideas that I never considered.

About the Book

IMAGINE – Jenna Greene

A fierce wind and a blast of green light during a strange storm causes everything to change for Katharine Bowers and Becky Thatcher. The girls wake up in Oren, an entirely different realm than their earthly city. They meet Enalie, a fading magical presence who sets an incredible destiny before them… then simply disappears. Left alone to fend off creatures that hunt them in the night, they must relay a magical heritage that doesn’t make sense, and – if possible – save a world that they know nothing about.

This novel is the first the series (YA fantasy). The second book is titled REALITY, and the third book (HERITAGE) is slated for release in September 2018.
