Have You Identified Your Life Mission?

Have You Identified Your Life Mission?

by Joanne Troppello

What is your life mission? Have you ever thought about that? Is there a defining factor in your life that has given you meaning and is the reason why you exist? What is your purpose in life?

I am a Christian and I’m not ashamed to admit that. Our church did a Bible study years ago on “The Purpose Driven Life” by Pastor Rick Warren. I enjoyed that study and it was helpful in defining my purpose as a Christian.

However, I believe that life is multi-faceted. I’m a Christian, but I’m also a wife. I’m a daughter. I’m a sister. I’m a freelance copywriter, author, and publisher of an online magazine. In all of the facets of who I am and the different roles I play, being a Christian is at the center of it all.

My main mission in life is to live for Christ, follow God’s direction, and witness to others about the saving power of God through Jesus’ death on the cross. Sometimes I fail at this mission. I’m human after all.

However, God’s grace is new every morning and I can ask forgiveness for my sins and have a brand new day. Of course, that doesn’t mean I have a license to sin and then come back to God asking for forgiveness each day. It simply means that I strive to be like Jesus, but when I fail, He is there to pick me up and help me continue.

When you find your life mission, working to complete it each day can be extremely fulfilling. One of my missions is to write. You can read more about why I feel led to write in a column I wrote a few months ago.

I made a whiteboard animation depicting ten tips on how you can find out your mission in life. No, it’s not a sermon, in case anyone was wondering. So, I hope you go on and check it out. Some of the tips include identifying your favorite moments in life, your inspirations, and natural capabilities.

Have fun discovering your life mission. I’d love to hear if you already know what yours is or if you are still on a journey to discover it. Feel free to leave a comment below.
