Book Review: The Daddy Pact by Kristy K. James
If you want a sweet, clean romance with real life issues then this is the book for you.
Jess Bentley is barely a bride when her husband is murdered by a drug addict. She has a vengeful father-in-law who blames her for his son’s death, no will to live and oh, did I mention she finds out she is expecting a baby. Jess’s life could be taken from the nightly six o’clock news.
But Ms. James also shows us the flip side of this event in that we see the pain and confusion of the drug addict’s family. Dealing with the loss of a son and brother leads to life altering choices by his family.
The story is also about how Dan Mulholland, brother of the murderer driven by his guilt of the murder of Frank Bentley does what some might consider the unthinkable.
In the end, all that matters to everyone is the baby, but oh the twisted road to get there.
Kristy K. James - Author
Kristy K. James' first goal in life was to work in law enforcement, until the night she called the police to check out a scary noise in her yard. Realizing that she might someday have to investigate scary noises in yards just as dark as hers if she continued on that path, she turned to her other favorite love...writing.
Since then her days have been filled with being a mom and reluctant zookeeper, creating stories, and looking for trouble in her kitchen.

Story-telling is as much a part of me as breathing is to my body. I have found that as I tell stories, putting them on paper, it makes room for the other stories that are building and will need to be told soon.
I write for children because with their wonderful imaginations they are the very best at believing that the probable can become possible. Nothing is any better than when the reader climbs into the adventure and joins the journey with you.
