Bible Reflection: 3 Verses to Memorize and Recite – Healing

When You Need Healing in Your Life – Body, Soul, & Spirit

by J.M. Troppello

I’ve prayed prayers for healing before for myself and others. Sometimes the prayers were answered the way I’d prayed for, and healing happened. Other times, God answered the prayer that healing was not meant to be.

That brings to mind my Oma (Dutch for Grandmother). As she aged, she’d been in the hospital multiple times for different issues. Our family prayed. Others prayed. Many times, healing happened. However, one time due to infection, her leg had to be amputated. We prayed that God would save her leg. That didn’t happen. But we had her in our lives for some years after that. Then she got sick again. Healing didn’t happen on this earth. She’s now in Heaven, fully restored.

I believe God can heal. I also believe that His plans for our lives are not always the ones we wanted. However, as a Christian, I take comfort in the fact that I am only a pilgrim passing through this earth. My real home is in Heaven.

If you need healing in your life—body, soul, or spirit—consider memorizing and reciting the following verses.

1. Physical Healing

But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5, NKJV)

2. Healing for Your Soul

28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. (Matthew 11:28-29, NKJV)

3. Spiritual Healing

Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed. (I Peter 2:24, NKJV)

Pray for Healing

I hope this article can bring you hope. If you need healing, pray with all your heart, and believe that God hears you. I truly believe that He hears your prayers. Trust that the way He answers the prayer is with His omniscience at work. He knows the future. He knows what is best for you.

Life is not meant to be easy. It is meant to be a journey for you to discover His perfect will for your life. Life is meant to be a pilgrimage of your spirit. All that God does in your life is meant to grow your spirit. All the obstacles you face are designed to help your faith grow.

Life is not perfect. That ended when Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden. Now you and I live in a fallen world. Perfection will never be achieved here on Earth. That is something exciting to look forward to when you get to Heaven.

Continue to grow in your walk in Lord. Value the three main factors of a victorious Christian life—prayer, reading the Bible, and praising God.

Pray for healing if you need it.

Believe for it with all your heart.

Trust God in the waiting time.

Have faith that He has the best in mind for your life.

Know that He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). That very thought should give you the wonderful peace that passes all understanding (Phil 4:7).
