Columnist Spotlight: Chris Carter, Diary of a Prodigal Daughter

by Joanne Troppello

Chris Carter writes a column, Diary of a Prodigal Daughter, for Mustard Seed Sentinel that is published on the 3rd Friday each month. She shares some powerful devotional content that resonates with people because she tells the truth—both the good and the bad.

She is real and vulnerable in her writing. That makes her very accessible to readers. They feel a connection to her writing. As publisher of Mustard Seed Sentinel, I am honored that she is writing a column for the magazine. She is a friend and fellow sister in Christ.

I am also encouraged by the Faithful Friends Facebook group she recently started. She shares positive content and video devotionals. Group members are free to share encouraging words as well.

That’s exactly why I started my YouTube channel, Sunflower Quest. I wanted to share positive content that can encourage people in these surreal times that we live in. I still believe that God is in control. I know I’m saved and Heaven Bound. However, while I’m still here on Earth, I want to live my life for His glory.

I’ve recently started interviewing interesting people who have inspiring stories to share. My first in-person interview was with my sister, Lori. My first Skype interview was with Chris. You can watch it in the video below.

About Chris Carter

Christine Carter is a working mom of a 12-year-old active son Marquis and has been married to her best friend Brent Carter for almost 15 years.

She attends Bethel: the Church at Philadelphia Mills, where she has been attending for almost 12 years.

She is currently a Quality Assurance Specialist at Gate 1 Travel in Fort Washington, PA. She resides in Levittown, PA, where she has lived for most of her life.

She is currently attending John Brown University’s online program where she is working on finishing a Psychology Degree which she began at JBU in NW Arkansas in the 1990s. She expects to graduate in May 2021.

She has always enjoyed writing, and poetry has been her method of choice. She believes that if you have a talent or a gift from God, or a desire to be used for His kingdom, He will make a way. You simply need to be willing.
