Do You Feel Safe in God’s Hand?

Resting in the Presence of God, My Father

by J.M. Troppello

“Let us not seek any other ground of assurance than God’s own testimony.” – John Calvin

With all that’s going on in the world today, life can feel like a tsunami of negative emotions and anxieties overwhelming you each day. I know because I’ve felt those horrendous waves crashing down upon me.

However, God is faithful!

It never fails that when those tidal waves of stress and fear threaten to overwhelm me, God reminds me that I am safe in His capable hand. I don’t have to fear. I don’t have to allow stress to weigh me down.

25 At that time Jesus answered and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes. 26 Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight. 27 All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him. 28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am [a]gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (Matthew 11:25-30, NKJV)

I love this passage from Matthew 11:25-30 where Jesus shares that all who labor and are heavy laden should come to Him because He will give you rest. He said you can find rest for your soul. His yoke is easy, and His burden is light. That’s such a comfort to my heart.

37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:37-39, NKJV)

Nothing can come between you and God. Trials can’t come between you. The stresses and anxieties of life can’t come between you. Don’t let fear overwhelm your soul. Turn to God. Read those three verses from Romans 8:37-39 over and over again until they strongly resonate within your spirit.

You are a conqueror through Him!

It’s not through your own strength. It’s only through God working in and through your life. Come to Jesus in your weariness. Ask God to fill your heart with peace as you trust Him to guide your pathway.

You don’t have to fear today!

Trust that God is working out His plan in your life. Spend time with Him. He will see you through the tidal waves of life that threaten to overwhelm you. Do you feel safe in God’s hand?
