How to Increase the Trajectory of Your Spiritual Growth

4 Ways to Enhance Your Spiritual Walk with the Lord

“Step out in faith and walk into your purpose.” – Germany Kent

Everyone is unique. I have a different personality than you. There are some traits that you have that I don’t have. Yet, all of us can come to God individually and accept salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16, NKJV)

That is a beautiful thing.

I’m so thankful that I made the decision to follow Christ.

If you made that decision as well, there are ways that you can increase the trajectory of your spiritual growth. Consider the following 4 ways that you can enhance your spiritual walk with the Lord.

12 And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all, just as we do to you, 13 so that He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints. (I Thessalonians 3:12-13, NKJV)

1. Three Essentials

Read the Bible, pray, and spend time in praise and worship each day. This will cultivate a heart that is open to heeding God’s direction for your life. These three essentials are vital to the Christian’s daily walk. If you want to grow in your spiritual life, you can’t do it without these three essential things.

2. Self-Evaluation

“For every spirit who is learning; you heal yourself.” – Thaiia Senquetta

Be open to evaluating your walk with the Lord. Make sure that you’re applying the truths from the daily Bible reading to your life. Keep the lines of communication open with God. Listen to the still, small voice of the Holy Spirit. When you are open, God will guide you down the right path.

3. Be Accountable

Ask God to convict you when you are tempted to sin or veer off His pathway for your life. Work with a trusted accountability partner to help you stay accountable to what you are learning in God’s Word. Make sure that this person is someone that you trust. You don’t want them to gossip about your life to other people.

4. Get Involved

Find ways to serve in your church like ushering or greeting. Serve in the youth group or children’s ministry. Get connected to a small group for fellowship and encouragement. Connecting with other people—through service and in small groups—can be a powerful way to grow in the Lord. God created people to grow through interactions with others.

Enhance Your Spiritual Walk

“The path of spiritual growth is a path of lifelong learning.” – M. Scott Peck

The most important part of enhancing your spiritual growth is to read your Bible, pray, and praise and worship God.

Following those actions, you need to commit to continual self-evaluation. Be accountable and work with an accountability partner. Finally, get involved in serving in your church and community. You can foster that service by attending a small group and getting support from other brothers and sisters in Christ in your church congregation.
