How to Trust God

When the World is Chaotic

by J.M. Troppello

It can be really difficult to trust God, especially when everything in life seems chaotic. It’s gotten to the point where I don’t even want to listen to the news anymore or know what’s going on. Yet, I know that I still need to stay informed about what’s going on in the world today.

Consider the following four ways to trust God when the world is chaotic, and it seems like it’s spinning out of control.

1. Limited Knowledge

It’s important to be informed about world events and what’s going on. However, you need to understand yourself and know how much is too much knowledge that can bring you down into depression. Find that happy balance that suits you and your personality.

2. Biblical Knowledge

Increase your Biblical knowledge. Read the Bible. Use a study version if possible. As I’ve mentioned many times, I use the NKJV Thomas Nelson Study Bible. Dig deeper and apply the Word of God to your life. Memorize verses that can help you increase your faith.

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” (Romans 10:17, NKJV)

3. Streamline Conversations

You should not be an island unto yourself. You need other people around you. However, you must streamline your conversations. Don’t get bogged down by negative people. Connect with others who love the Lord and want to encourage people. Be wise in your choices for who you allow into your inner circle in life. Yes, you need to love others and be a witness for Christ. But, you also need to have people in your life who are positive and help you to be inspired and more productive in your emotional and spiritual growth.

4. Running Conversations

Start your day and end it with prayer time. However, keep a running conversation going with God throughout the day. Be honest with how you feel. Yes, you need to live in faith and not be affected by your feelings. Yet, sharing with God how you feel can be therapeutic for your soul and help to increase your faith.

Live by Faith Today

Limit the negativity that you allow in your life, such as information from watching the news and scrolling through news feeds on social media. Increase your knowledge of the Bible. Choose to communicate daily with positive people who enhance your life and don’t bring you down. Keep praying during the day. God wants to communicate with you.
