5 Inspirational Quotes to Inspire You Toward Excellence

Staying Focused on Where Your Heart is Leading You in This Life

by J.M. Troppello

I love inspirational quotes. I have some written down on post-it notes and left for me to find in places throughout our home. I love listening to inspirational podcasts and reading books from motivational speakers. If you want to become more successful in life, it’s important to cultivate a mindset that is able to help you overcome all types of adversity and defy any obstacles that come across your path.

The following five inspirational quotes have inspired me. I hope they can bring some inspiration to your day as well. Stay focused on where your heart is leading you.

1. Chase Excellence

“Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection, we can catch excellence.” – Vince Lombardi. I love this quote from Vince Lombardi. Of course, no is perfect. None of us can attain perfection. Yet, as he said, when you pursue the path of perfection, maybe you’ll be able to achieve excellence in your endeavors. That is a great sentiment that motivates me daily.

2. Keep Believing

Audrey Hepburn said, “Nothing is impossible, the word itself says ‘I’m possible’!” It’s so important to keep hope alive in your life if you want to live successfully. Take the advice of Audrey Hepburn and live with the positive mental attitude that nothing is impossible. Believe that there are opportunities all around you if you simply have the capacity to find them.

3. Choose Kindness

The Greek fabulist, Aesop wrote, “No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.” That is so true. You have a choice to be kind or act selfishly each day. When you choose kindness, you have no idea what doors that will open in life for you and the person you were kind to. However, that’s the simplistic beauty of it. Being kind is beautiful and can create a ripple effect of positivity in the world. Choose kindness today.

4. Embrace Hope

Martin Luther said, “Even if I knew that tomorrow the world would go to pieces, I would still plant my apple tree.” This statement is so relevant today. Who knows what tomorrow holds? There is so much division in this world today. Hope, love, and kindness are needed more than ever. I love this statement by Martin Luther. I agree wholeheartedly. Even though I don’t know what tomorrow will bring, I am still planting seeds of hope today.

5. Stay Strong

Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote, “What lies behind you and what lies in front of you, pales in comparison to what lies inside of you.” You are stronger than you think you are. You can do more than you think you can do. Hang onto the strength inside you that is compelling you to keep going through all the obstacles you face. Don’t let your past rule your present. Embrace who you are today and live for all that you will become tomorrow.

Follow Your Heart

Are you committed to following a path of excellence in your life? That’s the path that I’ve been on recently. Failure will come. That’s a given. But, I will not give up until I have given it my all and achieved my dreams. I’ll keep fighting for those dreams until I breathe my last breath. Sound a bit dramatic, but it’s true.

  • Chase excellence

  • Keep believing

  • Choose kindness

  • Embrace hope

  • Stay strong

What steps are you taking to stay on a path toward excellence as you work on following your dreams?
