10 Daily Confessions for the New Year

by Joanne Troppello

Words have power. The words you speak can inspire you to take on new projects. They can hold you back from accomplishing your goals. Words can hurt or heal.

“The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” That verse is found in Proverbs 18:21.

We can encourage others that we come in contact with each day by the words we say. Proverbs 15:4 says that “the soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.”

Have you been speaking positive words over your life each day? What about the people in your life like family, friends, and others you meet on a daily basis? It doesn’t take much effort to be nice to yourself and others with your words.

I read the Bible each day. I love reading through the book of Proverbs. There is such wisdom there. Proverbs 15:28 says: “the heart of the righteous weighs its answers, but the mouth of the wicked gushes evil.”

It is so important to weigh our words that come out of our mouths. We need to motivate ourselves and each other daily.

It is vital that we apply this same principle when we interact with others on social media. Weigh the importance of your words before you tweet on Twitter or post on Facebook.

There is so much hate and divisiveness in the world today; especially in social media. Don’t be part of the problem. Be a part of the solution.

I created a blackboard animation depicting 10 Daily Confessions that you should live by. Watch the video to use these confessions and confess them over your life in the new year.
