Is Revival on the Way?
Spiritual renewal in these end times
by Joanne Troppello
At times during the last six months, I’ve felt like a dark mist was hovering over me—especially with the darkness that has been permeating the world in recent days.
Dark Mist Swallows the Light
Blackness swallows the light.
Torrential rain touches land.
Aftermath of colliding clouds.
the sky in false security.
No hope. The storm ends not.
Torrents trickle to drizzle.
Splish here. Splash there.
Sprinkles drizzle down.
Colliding clouds part as
moon’s light shoots down.
Earth is bathed in quiet.
The rain has halted and
the air rests in stillness.
Darkness still covers light.
Rain has become a mist.

However, I’ve been experiencing a spiritual awakening and renewal in recent weeks and God has been kindling a new fire in my spirit for revival fire in my life and across the globe.
I watched The Return 2020 livestream of the prayer event in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, 9/26. The event started with a prayer walk on the streets in DC and then a prayer and reconciliation event from 11 am – 5 pm. Then there was a praise and worship time from 6 pm – 8:45 pm.
I started watching at 11:30 am and kept watching the livestream on my tablet throughout the day—while I was washing dishes, doing laundry, then folding clothes etc.
This event was so powerful. I felt God’s presence heavily on me throughout the day. I’ve been experiencing my own time of repentance with my husband at the beginning of September and beyond once our church started a new end times sermon series. We’ve confessed wrongdoing to each other and God, and prayed for renewal in our lives. So, by the time this event occurred, I was ready in my spirit, soul, and body.
It was so beautiful to see so many people praising God and worshipping Him. I was singing and praising God throughout the day. It was so powerful.
I truly believe that this prayer event—and publicly coming to God as a representative body of the church in America—was the moment that our country needed to humble ourselves before God so that He’ll hear us and heal our land.
“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” – (II Chronicles 7:14)
I believe that revival is on the way across the globe. We need to be ready for this next powerful move of God. We must ready ourselves for the return of Jesus. Yes, scripture tells us that “no one knows the day or hour” (Matthew 24:36-51).
However, I’ve had an urgency on my heart to get right with God. I’ve been saved for 31 years. I grew up in a Christian home and got saved at a young age. My walk with the Lord has grown and had its ups and downs through the years.
Yet, something feels different this time.
I’ve taken to heart the words of Revelation 3:11, NKJV:
“Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.”
I know I am saved by grace through Jesus’ death on the cross. I won’t be judged for my sins, but God will review what I’ve done with my life and the choices I’ve made.
Jesus testified to the churches: “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to everyone according to his work.” – (Revelation 22:12, NKJV)
