Life Balance: 3 Positive Affirmations to Declare Today

Embrace All of Who You Are and What You’re Meant to Be

by J.M. Troppello

I have not always had good self-esteem.

Since my family moved several times when I was a teenager and I attended three different high schools, that probably didn’t help boost my self-confidence. I’m an introvert. It was difficult for me to make friends. By the time I made friends and felt more comfortable around others, our family moved again.

Maybe you have all the confidence in the world. You might be like me and did not always feel pretty or loved or never felt like you fit in anywhere.

Thankfully, I’ve grown as an individual. My confidence level has increased as I’ve gotten older. I know who I am. I’m happy with all aspects of myself—body, soul, and spirit.

Yes, I still want to grow and change into a better human. However, I’ve learned how to give myself grace through the growing periods. Consider the following positive affirmations that you can declare over yourself each day.

1. I am Unique and That’s Okay

“The person who follows the crowd will usually go no further than the crowd. The person who walks alone is likely to find himself in places no one has ever seen before.” – Albert Einstein

Don’t be afraid to be yourself. Be true to who you are. Embrace all your strengths and your weaknesses. Sure, you want to grow and always develop as a human being. However, tell yourself that you are unique and that’s okay.

2. I Have Flaws, But I’m Changing Daily

“But until a person can say deeply and honestly, ‘I am what I am today because of the choices I made yesterday,’ that person cannot say, ‘I choose otherwise.’” – Stephen R. Covey

If you want to grow and change as an individual, you need to admit your flaws. Yet, you also must acknowledge that it’s okay to give yourself grace as you continue through the journey of life. True change happens when you’re honest with yourself. Tell yourself that you have flaws, but you are growing into a new person each day.

3. There is Always Hope for Change

“Today is a new day. Don’t let your history interfere with your destiny. It doesn’t matter what you did or where you were. It matters where you are and what you’re doing. Get out there. Sing the song in your heart and never let anyone shut you up.” – Dr. Steve Maraboli

You’re going to mess up. You’re human after all. When I mess up, sometimes it’s hard to get back on the right track. However, I have to remind myself of this affirmation that there is always hope for change. Tomorrow is a new day. Don’t give in to discouragement. Affirm in your heart and soul the knowledge that you can still make positive and productive changes in your life. If you’re still breathing, you’re still living.

Affirm These Truths in Your Life

  • I am unique and that’s okay.

  • I have flaws, but I’m changing daily.

  • There is always hope for change.

Your mindset plays a huge role in where you end up in life. If you’re constantly focusing on the negative things, you’re only making it harder for you to succeed in life. Choose to affirm these three affirmations in your life each day. Focusing on the positive will help you to achieve great things.
