Taking some me time is not selfish. It’s a necessary part of living life. If you are not continually refilling your own overall wellness ‘tank’ you will not have the crucial energy and capacity to love others in your life.

Value who you are. Embrace the you of yesterday. Love the you of today. Work toward cultivating a better you for tomorrow. You can work on that personal development when you take time for yourself. Consider the following 4 benefits of embracing me time so that you can enrich your 3-part being—body, soul, and spirit.


1. Renewed Physically


Taking me time can renew you physically. Maybe your me time is when you work out. That’s a healthy activity that can improve your physical health. If you want to hang around on this earth for as long as possible, that can start with implementing a consistent weekly workout routine. Your me time could involve going to the spa for a massage, manicure, pedicure, foot soak, time in the sauna, or relaxing through salt room therapy.


2. Reset Mindset


When you take time to invest in yourself, that can renew your mindset. All of your being is linked together. The me time that takes care of your physical body then enhances your mindset. With a renewed perspective, you can become more positive and productive in your everyday life. That can enhance the way you interact with people in a more emotionally intelligent manner. It can help you succeed in the workplace as you increase your productivity level. Resetting your mindset can help you to become more present in your family time.


3. Filled Spiritually


Taking me time can fill you spiritually. The way you get filled spiritually may be different than I get filled spiritually. My spiritual journey involves prayer, reading the Bible, and worshiping God. I encourage you to go on your own spiritual journey so that you can feed your spirit and be more present in the lives of those your encounter daily.


4. Open Heart and Hands


When you take care of your 3-part being through your me time, you will likely have a more open heart and open hands. That will enable you to show more compassion to other people each day. When your overall wellness tank is filled daily, your hands will be open to help others and lift them up. You won’t be so filled with selfishness and greed, only out for yourself.

Whenever you think that it’s selfish to take some me time, don’t believe that. Remember the following 4 benefits of embracing your me time and renewing your entire 3-part being—so that you can be more compassionate and help others.
