My Faith is in the Lord
Not in Man or Any Government Leaders
by Joanne Troppello
Inflation is currently at 4.16%. Inflation is causing shrinking products. The prices of groceries and products are not all necessarily going up right now. However, companies are decreasing their product sizes by 10% and still charging you the same prices—all due to inflation. In the next few years – if the global economy is still on the same trajectory as it is now – inflation is expected to increase up to 50%. That means that the $100 in your bank will only be worth $50.
America is divided. Less government overreach is needed in our lives. Critical race theory is being pushed in schools and in the workplace. However, CRT is teaching division, not unity. The self-appointed woke police are out of control. Cancel culture should be canceled. More people are staying home now instead of going to work because of the unemployment benefits available. Government spending is WAY out of control. They are spending far more than they take in. Sure, they want to tax the wealthy more. However, when companies are taxed more, they will pass those expenses down to you, the consumer.
The Colonial Pipeline experienced a ransomware attack by hackers, and this is causing a shortage of fuel on the eastern coast of the U.S.
Peace Through the Storms
My Faith is in the Lord not in man or any government leaders.
I listen to the Glenn Beck Radio show each day while I work on articles in the afternoons. He shares great information on current events, but also provides helpful tips on how to survive these surreal times. He also shares about his faith in the Lord, which is encouraging to me.
However, his opening monologue today was kind of depressing. He was discussing many of the things I mentioned in the beginning of this article.
Now, I can focus on those things. I can start to get worried. I can drive our car to the local gas station and fill up our tank (which is probably a good idea right now). I can learn more about cryptocurrency, which is estimated to be the investment of the future, rather than stocks. I can spend less money and save more. I can find ways to work harder and start to earn more money. I can buy food storage. I can enhance my prepper skills.
All of those are good ideas. However, the best – and MOST IMPORTANT – first step for me to do is to cultivate my relationship with the Lord. I need to dig even deeper into the Bible. I need to spend more time in prayer and worship. I need to build deeper relationships with people.
I have memorized the following two passages of scripture years ago.
“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in you.” – Isaiah 26:3 (NKJV)
However, speaking them out over my life recently has given me God’s perfect peace that passes all understanding (Phil. 4:7). God’s peace is real. I cannot find that peace in myself or by myself. It’s ONLY when I focus on God that I can find that true peace.
“You have granted me life and favor, and Your care has preserved my spirit.” – (Job 10:12) NKJV
Peace is an invaluable treasure. Many people do not have peace – especially in these last days that we live in. However, when I am focusing on God, the peace that He gives me through the comfort of the Holy Spirit, is the ONLY thing that is keeping me sane these days.
Do you have God’s peace that passes all understanding in these surreal times that we live in?
