Down by the Waterhole
Seizing the Moment
by Joanne Troppello
Down by the waterhole children play,
finding amusement by a 200 year old oak.
Rounded trunk supports the branch
upon which hangs their coiled rope swing.
Wet bodies glisten in the sun as arms and
legs flail in flight through the air to the water.
Screams of delight fill the summer air,
such fun this old oak tree brings.
Boys and girls dream they are noble Lords
and Ladies of ancient Camelot as they play.
Down by the waterhole children play.
Young minds only focused on seizing the moment.
