Be Thou His Servant

Will you be the one?

by Joanne Troppello

She walks the city streets at night,

lost and alone.

Why? Someone asks,

because she ran away from home.

He’s an executive always on the rise,

appearing like he’s got it all.

No one even knows,

his heart never used to be so empty and small.

An old woman sits in her rocker,

filled with anger and bitterness.

Her children never stop to wonder

what changed their mother’s joy to sadness.

Will you be the one, I ask

to show the love of Jesus

to the many hurting people

as His love flows freely through us?
