Sunday Inspiration: How to Persevere in Difficult Situations

by Joanne Troppello

If you want something badly enough, you need to chase that dream down. You cannot give up until you’ve accomplished what you’ve set out to do. Recently, this quote from Marie Curie truly caught my attention and hit me right in the heart.

“Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that? We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted for something and that this thing must be attained.”

Video Message: Persevering Through Difficulty

How do you deal with tough times? We all go through hard times, but we need to remember that the difficulties won't last forever. We will experience mountaintop experiences again.

My mom always told me that life is difficult, and I won’t always get what I want, but God will provide for my needs. I have been a Christian for many years and have seen this to be true time and time again. I don’t have everything I want, but I have everything I need.

God is good. He has a plan. I need to trust in Him. Sure, that isn’t always easy, but my home is not here on Earth. My real home is in Heaven. I want to become more Kingdom focused each day. To realize that yes, I am going to have struggles, but when I seek God’s face and not His hands, He will give me His peace that passes all understanding.

When you think like nothing is going right and nothing good is ever going to happen, that’s when you need to dig in your heels and keep moving forward. If you give up, you’ll never know what would have happened, if you continued striving to achieve your dreams.

Everything good takes hard work and a strong desire to be disciplined to follow your dreams and reach your goals. Don’t give up—you’ll be sorry if you do.
