Are You Living Daily for God’s Glory?

Glorify God in These 4 Ways in Your Life

by Veritas Vita 777

“Living by grace means liberty, not bondage…depending on the Spirit…not the flesh; living for others, not for self…and living for the glory of God, not for man’s approval.” – Warren Wiersbe

As a believer, you are saved by grace through faith. You walk in liberty, not in bondage to sin. You should be cultivating a deep dependence on the Holy Spirit at work in your life, not reliance on your flesh and own will. Genuine faith in God is reflected in a life lived for the benefit of others, not for yourself. A life changed by God will seek to live for God’s glory and not for man’s approval.

Does that word picture describe me? Does it describe you?

After reading that quote from Warren Wiersbe, I definitely took time to ruminate on whether or not I am living daily for God’s glory. Consider some of the following ways that you can give God glory in your life.

1. Nurture Connection with God

16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16, NKJV)

An important way that you can give God glory daily is to grow in your walk with Him. That happens when you decide to nurture that connection with the Father through daily communion with Him. If you’re not used to talking to God through prayer, try simple things like saying good morning to God when you first wake up. Say good night when you go to sleep. Tell God about your day. It will likely seem silly talking to God when you don’t hear Him speaking back to you. However, having that running conversation with Him throughout the day will help you grow closer to Him.

2. Develop Your Faith

Now faith is the [a]substance of things hoped for, the [b]evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1, NKJV)

A second part of giving God glory is learning how to develop your faith in Him. Your faith will grow in time as you pray and see answers to prayer. It will grow as you invest time and energy in reading the Bible and studying it. Then you need to apply those truths to your life. Developing your faith and living out God’s instructions – from the Bible – will glorify Him.

3. Show Love and Compassion

8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. (I John 4:8, NKJV)

God is glorified when you live a life that is founded on the principle of agape or unconditional love. You cannot love unconditionally through your own strength. This genuine love and compassion for others can only come to full fruition in your life as you allow the Holy Spirit to manifest God’s unconditional love in your life. Then, God will use your life as a vessel to pour that agape love onto those that you encounter daily. It’s not your place to judge others. Yes, you need to speak the truth in love. However, it’s important to remember that the key word is love.

4. Cultivate Thankfulness

18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. (I Thess. 5:18, NKJV)

A thankful heart is a beautiful thing. Cultivating a thankful heart will glorify God in your life. It will show God that you have learned how to be content in all things. It tells Him that you have learned the value of trusting Him to work all things out for good in your life. Thankfulness can become contagious. When people see your thankful heart, that can be a catalyst to stir up gratefulness in their own heart.

Living for God’s Glory

God is majestic! He is the creator of all things. He is awesome and worthy of all glory, honor, and praise. Living daily for God’s glory can change your mindset. It can set you free from depression and a self-centered lifestyle. It can empower you to desire to become more selfless and available to help those in need around you.
