Are You Thankful for God’s Creation?

Embrace the Beauty of God’s Creation and Refocus Your Heart

by Veritas Vita 777

The temperature was a bit warmer today, so I decided to bring my laptop outside to work this afternoon. As I opened a Word document and gathered my thoughts, the beautiful autumn colors of the leaves on the trees in the yard caught my attention. I couldn’t stop staring at the scenic beauty around me.

Are you thankful for God’s creation?

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness [a]was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. (Gen. 1:1-2, NKJV)

I’m a Christian and creationist. I believe the account of creation from the Bible. I am thankful for God’s creation. I have always loved nature and reveled in God’s creation.

If you need an infusion of faith into your spirit today, take time to be still before God (Ps. 46:10) and marvel at His creation. He created this world. He created all people, animals, and all living things. Take heart and meditate on this verse from Jer. 32:17. Nothing is too hard for God!

17 ‘Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too [a]hard for You. (Jer. 32:17, NKJV)

It may not always seem like it, but God is still in control even when life is hard. You can trust Him to guide your path. Taking time to embrace the beauty of God’s creation has always been a way for me to recenter my focus on God – especially when I feel overwhelmed from circumstances in my life.

I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help? 2 My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. (Psalm 121:1-2, NKJV)

I love this passage from Psalm 121:1-2. My help comes from God. He made Heaven and earth. You might need to remind yourself of that fact again. God is the creator of Heaven and earth. There is nothing that may be going on in your life today that God cannot help you through.

Trust that your help comes from the Lord.

And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked according to the [a]course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. 4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. (Eph. 2:1-10, NKJV)

God created you and me. Because of Him being rich in mercy and because of His great love, you can be made alive together with Christ – being saved by the grace of God. I love how verse 10 says that as a believer, you are His workmanship. You have been created in Christ Jesus for good works.

Embrace the beauty of God’s creation today. Allow that beauty to impact your heart and soul – and refocus your mindset back on God—knowing that He will be with you always!
