Does Fear Rule Your Life?

Trust God for the Victory

by Veritas Vita 777

Fear can be a cruel master. If you allow fear to consume you, it will take over your life. As a younger believer, I allowed fear to control many aspects of my life. Thankfully, God has taught me how to trust Him and not give in to extreme anxiety.

The following Bible verses have helped me conquer fear in my life. Those fears came in the form of fear of failure, anxiety over relationship issues, worry that God wouldn’t provide for my financial needs, and fear that bad things would happen to my loved ones.

1. Don’t Fear, God is Your Strength

This passage urges that you fear not. Trust God because He is your God. He will strengthen you, help you, and uphold you. That’s a powerful message to internalize today.

Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
(Isaiah 41:10, NKJV)

2. Trust in the Lord and Don’t Fear

That sounds simple, but it’s true. You can either stay stagnated and afraid, or trust God to move mightily in your life on your behalf. I have been stagnated in fear in the past. I choose faith now. Believer, stand strong in the Lord and trust that He has a plan. You don’t need to fear.

Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.
(Psalm 56:3, NKJV)

3. Know that God is with You

God is with you. You don’t have to fear what others can do to you. Living in fear will only manifest more negativity in your life. Submerse yourself into the Word and prayer. Start believing with all your heart that God really is with you, because He is.

You do not have to be afraid.
The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?
(Psalm 118:6, NJV)

4. Pray Through the Fear

You’ll need to muster up the courage to pray even when you’re afraid. You’ll have to pray through the fear. The fear won’t usually immediately leave you. Devour these words from Philippians and hold them close to your heart. You do not have to be anxious for anything. Bring all your concerns to God in prayer. Trust that He is in control. Stay obedient to the direction He gives you. Obey whatever steps of faith He asks you to take.

6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Phil. 4:6-7, NKJV)

As a Christian, you have the power of Jesus Christ at work in your life. You don’t have to be a slave to fears. Ask Him to help you become victorious in this area. Don’t give up. It may take time to work through this issue in your life. But know that God is always with you. He will give you the grace and strength to become an overcomer of all your fears.

Believer, you are not alone. God is with you. The Holy Spirit will bring to mind the right verses from the Bible as you have need. Just get in the Word, keep praying, and praise God through your struggles.
